Day 7 - Friday, September 5th

Another busy day today! Off to spend the day with Grandma Dot and Papa Arleigh in Pensacola. Today we are going to the National Museum of Naval Aviation.

Asa got to sit in a cockpit of a real Blue Angel Plane!

Hmmm... he looks pretty comfortable!

Planes...

Lots and lots of planes!

Oh yeah, and this... the Atomic Bomb. This is a representative of the type of atomic bomb (nicknamed 'fat man') that was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan to end the Second World War.

Um yeah, I had to take this picture. Almost like I would be breaking a law if I didn't.

Future fighter pilots? Maybe Lexi will be Asa's "wing man"?

Asa got to sit in a ton of cockpits and he loved all of them!

Here are a few pics of the National Cemetery. It is quite beautiful.

Lunch at Sam's Seafood. Notice no one is in the picture? Asa decided he didn't want anything to eat except for crackers, while Lexi ate pretty much everything in sight. Including a large majority of daddy's Baked Beans as well as a good portion of his Mullet.
Joe Patti's Fish Market. We just missed the fishing boats coming in with the fresh fish. Bummer! Hopefully we'll be able to come back this trip!
Love this picture - 3 generations of Abbott men!
We were able to get really super close to this (Blue Heron?) bird and Asa and Lexi loved it. Especially when it flew away. Asa and Lexi both squealed and screamed.
We dropped off Papa Arleigh and headed back to Grandma Dot's house. Stayed there for a little bit and Aunt Lisa and Uncle Richard showed up not long after. Asa sang songs for Lisa and Grandma Dot while Lexi just stole Uncle Richard's heart right out of his chest.
