Day 2 - Sunday, August 31st - Las Cruces, NM to San Antonio, Tx

Everyone woke up really happy, but for some reason Asa kept telling us that he needed to go see the "doctor" for some type of foot ailment he was experiencing. We never did figure out what it was. Nothing noticeable to the naked eye and obviously nothing a foot rub and kiss from mommy couldn't cure. Appears that Hurricane Gustav is hell-bent on ruining our course of travel. Still headed to San Antonio though (or as Asa calls it "San An-o-ni-o"). Just glad we have our reservations already, becasue according to the radio San Antonio has become an "evacuation city".

Can't remember where exactly I took these pictures. Somehwere in Texas though. I just thought the clouds were really cool.

You can't get much more relaxed than this, can you?

Stopped at a really cool Sonic in Ozona, Texas. It was wierd though, and I say that because Sonic is "America's Drive-In", right? Well this one wasn't. Nope, didn't even have a drive-thru. Anyway, it did have a really nice indoor playground in it which Asa loved and allowed him to work off a lot of energy he had from sitting in the car.

Lexi can't wait to be big like Asa and be able to play in the playground too!

San Antonio! Our first ever family picnic! It was so much fun! John took us to Bill Miller's Bar-B-Q and we go some food to go. Not to mention a huge thing of Sweet Tea which Asa and Lexi are now hooked on! John took us to Randolph Air Force Base and this is where I took this picture. The picnic pavillion is right next to a playground, so Asa couldn't wait for us to be all done so he could go play!

John proudly displaying his Bill Miller Bar-B-Q bag.

Fun at the playground - this time Asa is at the wheel!

Will he or won't he? Nope, he won't. Asa loves to talk about slides, but that's all he does is talk. Once it comes time to really going down it, he usually opts out.

He loves to swing though!
