Silhouettes

They brought a lady by the name of Judith Housel into the daycare today. Judith does amazing handcut silhouette portraits. As a matter of fact, we already have one portrait she did of Asa about 1 1/2 years ago. So of course we jumped on the opportunity to have her do both kids this time.

More Pic's from Easter Weekend

Awesome pictures taken by Gamma & Gampa! Thanks so much for sending these to me!

"How you like me now?"

Lexi investigating the flower drawing in the dirt at Rawhide.

Dancing with Gamma & Auntie.

O.M.G.!!! Is this not the sweetest picture ever????

Lexi's rocks that her and Gamma collected at Rawhide. Lexi loves rocks and really loved the fact that Gamma showed her the pocket in her dress so she could put them in there instead of carrying them around!

Video of Lexi's 1st Haircut!

Around midnight I was finally able to get the video(s) uploaded to YouTube. The only format I can seem to save the video in that will transfer to the blog. I am still working on getting the video to post to the blog. The instructions are really simple, so I am not sure why it's not working. In the meantime I am just going to provide the link so you all can click on it. I

This is the first clip. Might want to turn your volume down. The music is pretty loud. The place where we go has videos that the kids can pick to watch. Asa picked 'Ice Age' for Lexi and the music you hear is the beginning of the movie (I think). Regardless, it was nice mellow music and I think it might have helped Lexi be as calm as she was. Although, I'm sure she would have been that way regardless.

This clip is really funny. This is after the haircut where she is getting her hair blow dried for the first time. The look on her face is hilarious! I love her frown and when she sticks her jaw out.

I finally broke down and we did it...

... we took Lexi to go get her haircut! Well, really we only got her bangs cut, but it still counts as the "first" right? I got great video of it, can't figure out how to get it on the blog though. I think it has to many MB's. Whatever those are. I'm still working on it. But here's a few before and after pic's for you all to enjoy!

There is an awesome fish tank with lots of cool fish at the place where Asa (now Lexi too!) get their haircut. They love it!

Here's our before pic... Yeah... It's time...

Getting strapped into the "airplane" chair...

Getting the cape put on...

Okay, so this is the sucky part. I didn't take any more pictures during the actual haircut procedure. I captured it all on the recorder. It's just her bangs, so it literally took all of 3 minutes from start to finish. I am trying really hard to get it put on here so all of you can see what a champion she is! She didn't cry, nothing. Just sat there like a perfect angel and pretty much let them do what they wanted to her. We were so proud of her. I was honestly expecting a traumatic experience based on what we went through with Asa. But once again, Lexi proves that she is nothing like Asa! Way to go Lexi!
Here's her certificate and yes, that's her hair taped to the bottom of it. So cute!

Afterwards we took the kids to the Golden Corral for dinner for a 1st Haircut Celebration! This is the only actual "after" picture I took of her. Like I said, I'm working on it...

Asa was super proud of his Carrot Cake topped with M&M's!

Comments!

Hey guys! A lot of you respond to the auto e-mail and make comments but they go straight to my e-mail account and are not posted on the blog. I really want to save your comments so that I can share them with the kids when they get older. Especially for those of you that are far away. So, I just wanted to remind you all to please leave your comments on the blog. You don't need to create an account, but can if you want. If you don't create an account you can use "Anonymous". Just make sure I know who you are, ex. Love - Aunt Lisa, etc. Thank You!

In other news... Our computer is back up and running again. Not sure what was wrong with it, but we had a "diagnostic check" done and all seems to be fine. Yeah!

Also, John discovered this nifty little feature on the digital camera the other day. We can actually record small clips! I can't believe we were able to do that the entire time and just discovered it! This comes in handy, especially because something funky happened to the camcorder and we can't even get it to turn on anymore. Anyway, I took a few clips of the kids. They downloaded to the computer fine, I just need to figure out a way to get them posted on the blog. I'm sure it's easier than I think it is though. Just need to find the time.

That's it for now. Love to you all!

Asa and the "Monster"

Lately, Asa's imagination has been in full swing. I'm not sure what is bringing this on all of a sudden, but maybe it's just his age and/or maybe it's a little too much pretend play at school. Regardless, he thinks there is a "monster" in the closet. Last night, Asa was legitimately scared of said "monster". We talked about it for a little bit and decided that we should call Gamma and Gampa and talk to them about it. We talked to Gamma a little then we talked to Gampa. Asa asked Gampa to come get it and Gampa said he would get it next time he came over. This seemed to work but only for a few minutes. Asa said he was scared of the "monster" and wanted to go see Daddy. We went and got Daddy. After all - Mommy's are not capable of catching monsters, right? Asa led Daddy by the hand to the closet (weird how the "monster" was in daddy's closet and not mommy's - snicker, snicker - everyone knows mommy's closet is a lot scarier!). Daddy entered the closet and announced to all of us that he needed some "room". So I escorted Asa and Lexi out of the room into the hallway. We heard some thrashing about and after a few minutes, Daddy came out of the room holding a plastic bag (with garbage or something in it) out in front of him (like it was a stinky diaper) and we all marched along behind Daddy (cheering him on) as he went to the Juliet Door and threw the bag out the door onto the ground below. Daddy yelled "And don't come back!" and shut the door and locked it. We all clapped our hands and said "Hooray for Daddy!". Asa gave Daddy a big hug and thanked him for getting the "monster". Of course, Asa talked about Daddy's heroics for the rest of the night until he fell asleep.

A Wonderful Easter Weekend!

What an incredible weekend we had! So much fun and we were very busy! I've uploaded a lot of pictures, but of course I took a ton more - it's so hard deciding what pictures to include on the blog! They are all so great! Mom - I tried your suggestion and just couldn't get it to work.

A big thank you to everyone that was involved in everything this weekend - it wouldn't have been the awesome weekend it was without everyone being there and being involved!

So let's start from the beginning - Friday night Easter Egg Decorating! Gramma, Grampa, and Fany (their foreign exchange student) came over. This was a first for Fany and Lexi. Lexi was to young last year and I doubt Asa remembers it either.

The end result! Aren't they beautiful? Everyone did such a good job!

Saturday afternoon we were supposed to have a picnic at the park in our neighborhood, unfortunately it was raining. This was to celebrate all the March and April Birthday's. Happy Birthday to Diane, John, Patti and Fany. After that we got the kids ready and loaded up the Big One w/ Grammama and headed to Rawhide! About a year back, some friends of my parents got Lexi and Asa some really cute western wear and we were so excited that they finally had an opportunity to wear their western clothes and show off how cute they are. Thanks Ron & Sandy! I think you will agree that they looked adorable!

Asa had a blast putting everyone in jail. He thought it was really funny. Of course, he wouldn't go in at all! (I'm taking this as a good sign!)

"Not so fast Grampa! You're gonna be in here for a while!"

Lexi and Asa loved dancing at the Steakhouse. This was probably the highlight of the night.

Sunday morning, the kids got up early and guess who paid them a visit? The Easter Bunny!!!

Shot of Asa coming down the stairs and seeing what the Easter Bunny left for him. He was really excited. Doesn't he look handsome?

Pretty little Lexi - not far behind Asa, looking just precious in her Easter Dress.

After playing with our new toys and eating Easter Candy for breakfast, it was time to go to the park and hunt for Easter Eggs!

Lexi caught on really fast. Faster than I thought she would. Asa was excited as first, but like most 3 year olds (almost) he lost interest quickly. This was largely due to the fact that there was a playground at the park and a very tempting slide.
Asa (accidentally?) dumped his Easter basket out. Here he is surveying the damage.

Asa gave up on holding his Easter basket. Decided it would be more fun to just get right to it and go to each Egg, open it up and gobble up the candy as fast as he could. That is when he discovered that there was candy inside. Here is the first shot of Asa opening up an egg and discovering the yummy treats. I love the expression on his face!

Lexi checking out all her goodies...

After the Easter Egg Hunt it was finally time to just run around and play. It was a gorgeous day!
Gramma & Grampa brought over the Spider Man Kite they bought for Asa. Daddy, Gramma and Asa took it out for a test fly. Unfortunately not much wind to keep it up, but Asa loved every minute of it - especially when he got to hold the string!

Swinging - one of their favorite things. Especially when Auntie is pushing them!

Going down the slide is always more fun when Grampa is there to catch me!
