Cars, Cookies and Pumpkins - OH MY!!!

This past weekend I loaded up the Sebring with the kids and Grammama and we headed west to my parents house in Parker, Az. Daddy got to stay at home and have a nice relaxing weekend... cleaning the garages, cleaning up the back and front yard, grocery shopping, etc., while the kids and I played. I took a TON of pictures, so many in fact, that I have to split the blog up! First thing when we got to Parker, we headed out to a Car Show and Chili Cook-Off at La Paz County Park. Grampa was judging the cars. Everyone was pretty much tuckered out after the Car Show (especially Asa and Lexi) so we saved the Cookie making and Pumpkin Carving for Sunday.

Is this thing safe? Asa is giving the dragster a "once-over" before he decides if he wants to get in it or not.

Guess it was all okay - - here he is in the drivers seat!

Asa wasn't sure what to think of this Pirate. That is pretty much as close as he would get to it.

Gramma and Lexi.

Yellow car. We were at a Car Show, so I took pic's of the cars, even though I'm not much of a "car person". Please don't ask me what kind of cars they are...

Red car and White truck. Red bicycle on bottom of picture - I don't think that was an entry though.

Maroon car with weird doors.

Another Red car.

White car and more Red cars.

Cool Purple truck. Asa didn't know what to think of this "doll", especially when Asa tried to talk to "him" and it didn't talk back.

Shocking, I know... but ANOTHER Red car! There were a lot of red cars, however my Dad did inform me that, "The Black car won".
Fast forward now to Sunday for Cookies and Pumpkins!!!

Asa helping Gramma measure stuff for the cookies.

Helping Gramma stir everything all together.

Asa helping Gramma make neat well formed drops of cookie batter - NOT!! When Asa wasn't just letting the cookie goo fall from the spoon wherever it happened to land, he was flinging the spoon around trying to get what was left off of the spoon.

Proud moment - a boy and his Pumpkin.

Asa really as interested in the whole pumpkin think like I thought he would be. Asa did though tell Grampa that he wanted a "scary pumpkin". He definitely didn't want anything to do with sticking his hands in it! Grampa got him a spoon and after sticking it in briefly, he lost interest and went back to playing on the grass.

Lexi however, was watching every move Grampa made! She thought this whole thing was quite fascinating!

Lexi reaching out to "hug" her new friend the Pumpkin.

Yes, seriously - hugging and loving on the pumpkin! How cute is that?

Here she is "kissing" the pumpkin!

Not the best picture, but you get the idea. Here is our final result! Thanks Grampa for making us such a great Pumpkin!

While we were in Parker, Daddy had been pumping us up for a "big surprise" in store for us when we got home. I was a little concerned as he wouldn't elaborate on what the surprise was. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised and so was Asa when we drove into the driveway and discovered that we have our very own "Scary House"!! Well done, Daddy!!

Our "scary house" comes with this Huge Inflatable with Music and Lights, a really creepy guy that his motion activated, Pirate stakes in the ground, Black Lights and best of all......

MICHAEL MEYERS!!!! How cool is this!?!
Okay - I have to admit that it is a little disturbing pulling into the driveway and seeing Michael Meyers staring down at you, but it is even worse when you are half asleep, walking down the hallway to get the baby in the middle of the night and you see this freaking thing standing in front of the Juliette Balcony! Can you say "Instant Heart Attack!"? I know he's there and yet it still freaks me out when I see him.

I will update the rest of the blog either today or tomorrow with the rest of the pictures from this weekend.
